One northern Ont. hospital to require masks again starting Monday
As of Monday, anyone visiting patients at the North Bay Regional Health Centre will have to wear a mask.
The restriction applies to all patients, care partners, visitors, employees, physicians and contractors.
“This decision was determined by the current level of hospitalizations from respiratory viruses and community transmission,” the hospital said in a news release Friday.
Masks must be worn in areas of the hospital designated for patients.
“This includes all outpatient clinics and waiting areas (medical imaging, lab, clinics) and the emergency department,” the hospital said.
“Masks will also be required in all inpatient units, including common spaces.”
Masks are not required in public and staff areas such as hallways, team nursing stations, break and meeting rooms, cafeteria, Tim Hortons and Town Square.
Masks will be available at the main entrances and entrances to units/clinics.

“Anyone is welcome to wear a mask in areas not listed as required if they wish,” the release said.
“We ask everyone (to) please respect each person’s decision to wear or not wear a mask.”
Visitors who feel unwell are asked to postpone visiting until they feel well.
