Highway 69 reopened early Tuesday evening after being closed for nine hours following a collision.

Ontario Provincial Police responded to the crash shortly before 5:30 a.m., along with fire services and EMS.

“The driver of the vehicle received serious life-altering injuries, while the passenger had minor injuries,” the OPP said in a news release.

“Both were transported to the area hospital by EMS. The northbound lanes were closed for just over nine hours, from Nelson Road during the investigation and the removal of the vehicle.”

The OPP Collision Reconstructionist and members of the Traffic Collision Investigation Team are at the scene “and will continue to assist Nipissing West OPP officers with the investigation, which is still ongoing,” police said.
