A woman named Joanne is credited for alerting the public works department to the hazard in a social media post by the city Monday.

"Temporary signage will be put up ahead of repairs," said the post, which received hundreds of shares and reactions.

"Watch for traffic cones and drive with caution."

Crews are on site Tuesday morning making the repair, Amanda Dyer, a spokesperson for the city, told CTV News in an email.

Meanwhile, voting is open for the annual Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) Worst Roads campaign.
