SUDBURY -- One person has died in a suspected drowning in Pike Lake, near Sheguiandah in the Manitoulin Area. 

According to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), it happened Saturday Aug. 1, around 9:15 p.m in Howland Township.

Bradley Alston, 28-years-old from Little Current, was believed to have been fishing before nearby witnesses saw a drifting boat and later found him floating.

According to police, he was not wearing a lifejacket. He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The investigation is ongoing, along with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. Foul play is not suspected.
