SUDBURY -- Greater Sudbury Police made a disturbing discovery Sept. 3, when they spotted a man want for breaching his release conditions.
He was captured after a short chase, and when they searched him, they found a modified BB gun with a barrel extender attached by duct tape to hold a shotgun shell.
The incident began at 8:10 p.m. when police spotted the suspect.
"Officers approached the man and the man attempted to flee from them, however he was caught a short distance away," police said in a news release Friday.
In addition to the modified BB gun, he was also carrying a large flip knife and a set of composite knuckles, as well as what police believe was a crack cocaine.
A 38-year-old Sudbury man is charged with number offences, including four counts of weapons possession, one count of carrying a concealed weapon, having a restricted firearm and ammunition, carrying a firearm, careless use of a firearm, drug possession and failing to comply with a release order.
He was scheduled to be in bail court Friday.
