Theatre professor Dr. Ian Maclennan will be directing a production, at Thorneloe University in Sudbury, of one of Shakespeare's best-known plays Macbeth.

This will be his final production after more than 20 years with the University.

"It's a fun play to do. There's a lot of great characters in the play which is one of the things I wanted to be able to give the students on my last go round," said Maclennan.

Student Linus Closs is looking forward to the production. "It’s become kind of trendy I guess to do different takes on Shakespeare but this one is a little more raw. It's a little more disturbing. We're really kind of going all out," said Closs.

Macbeth is being presented at the Ernie Checkeris Theatre at Thorneloe University on the Laurentian University campus.

It runs March 16, 17, 22-24 at 7:30 PM, with a Sunday matinee on March 18 at 2:00 PM. Tickets are $20.00 (adult) and $10.00 (students/seniors).

Free parking is available. Tickets are available at thorneloetheatre.eventbrite.ca or can be reserved (and paid for at the door) by calling 705-673-1730 ext. 0
