Impaired driving charges laid against ATV driver in November crash with pickup truck
New charges of impaired driving have been laid more than two months after a crash in northern Ontario between an ATV and pickup truck.
Both drivers and an ATV passenger were charged previously with various offences days after the collision that happened on Plamondon Road in Mattice, near Hearst, shortly after 1:30 a.m. Nov. 18.

On Feb. 1, Ontario Provincial Police announced two additional charges of impaired driving have been laid against the 29-year-old ATV driver from Jogues.
Back in November, he was charged for driving without a helmet and having a passenger on his non-passenger ATV.
Now, he is also being accused of driving while impaired by alcohol and drugs with a blood alcohol concentration of more than 80.
His 27-year-old passenger from Mattice was also charged for not wearing a helmet.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 26-year-old from Val Cote, was charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident, failing to report the accident, failing to render assistance in an accident and careless driving causing bodily harm.
Both the driver and passenger of the ATV were taken from the scene to hospital by ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries.
"If a driver is suspected of driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, the OPP has the authority to demand a breath sample, a drug recognition evaluation, or a blood sample," police said in a news release Feb. 1.
"The police will demand a blood sample when a person is physically incapable of providing a breath sample, or it would be impractical to obtain a breath sample."
