SUDBURY -- A 25-year-old Sudbury woman has been charged with impaired driving after a car collided with an apartment building on St. Mary Street early Sunday morning.
Greater Sudbury Police said the incident occurred at 1:50 a.m. Oct. 18 in the Gatchell neighbourhood of the city.
"A woman was driving at an excessive speed on Mary Street at Clemow (Avenue) when she lost control of the vehicle, struck a garage and then struck the residence," police spokesperson Kaitlyn Dunn said in an email Monday. "When officers arrived, she showed visible signs of impairment."
She was given a roadside test, which showed she was impaired, and then taken to police headquarters, where she tested again above the legal limit for alcohol in the bloodstream.
She is charged with impaired driving and operation of vehicle while impaired. No one was injured as a result of the collision.
