The Ontario Provincial Police have now identified the victim in a fire last Sunday morning in the community of Spanish-Sable Rivers, about an hour west of Sudbury.
The fire was on Cutler Lake Road and when officers and the Fire Marshal were going through the burned site, they found human remains.
Through a forensic investigation, the victim has been identified as 36-year old Sandy Nott from the Township of Sables-Spanish Rivers.
The fire is not being considered suspicious at this time.

(ESPANOLA, ON) - On Sunday, March 3, 2019, at approximately 3:52 a.m., officers from the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the Sables-Spanish Rivers Fire Department, and the Manitoulin-Sudbury Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a residential fire on Cutler Lake Road in the Township of Sables-Spanish Rivers Township, Ontario.
On Monday, March 4, 2019, officers from the Manitoulin OPP, with the assistance of the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshall located suspected human remains inside the residence.
The investigation is continuing by members from the Manitoulin OPP Detachment, the Manitoulin OPP Crime Unit, and the OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, and the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshall.
The identity of the deceased has not been confirmed. Information will be released as it becomes available.
