Home and Garden Expo takes over Memorial Gardens in North Bay

With dozens of vendors and booths available, there were lots of options for people looking at some summer projects.
Innovations in building, landscaping and home improvement were on display all weekend for onlookers. It was the first time local businesses have been able to gather under one roof since 2019 to showcase the latest trends in home building renovations.
"Some of the technology that they're using today. We have two different groups from a safety stand point, like how you monitor your home or business,” said Scott Clark, one of the expo’s coordinators.
“They're here but also lighting specialties.”
Topics discussed include scheduling strategies for the best material delivery and competitive project financing, as well as the latest designs and techniques.
"We have a lot more extreme weather. We've got a lot more products which are specialized for the north,” said Sean Grech, the sales and marketing manager for Roof Pros Plus.
“So now we have a four-way locking system that’s been tested at 120 miles per hour wind gauge."

Vendors include construction companies, garden centres, landscapers, dealers, furniture stores with outdoor accessories, heating and cooling system suppliers and a range of residential home service contractors.
"People have found that trying to track down a contractor finding someone to do your work is hard to find,” said Clark.
“They're all here and people are booking right through now into the fall.”
Expo attendees could discuss financing, materials and even design aspects with vendors discussed include scheduling strategies for the best material delivery and competitive project financing, as well as the latest designs and techniques. (Eric Taschner/CTV News Northern Ontario)
For many of those in attendance, they're already contemplating or are looking forward to completing big summer home improvement projects.
Organizers told CTV News that they are glad to be back for the first time in four years and hope for the show to grow next winter.
