Highway 114 has reopened following the investigation into a crash that killed a 43-year-old Sudbury driver north of the city Friday morning, police say.

Emergency crews were called to the scene in unincorporated territory near Cartier shortly after 8 a.m. The highway was closed in both directions four about eight hours, while members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team helped with the investigation.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Around 9 a.m., 511 Ontario said the road is closed between Regional Road 8 in Onaping and "Cartier E Ent."

No word on what caused the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
