Update 2:

Sault police say search warrants were executed around 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon that resulted int he arrest of four people.

They say there is no immediate concern for public safety and more details will be released as they become available.

Update:

Multiple arrests have been made in Sault Ste. Marie after a collaborative effort between the local police drug enforcement unit and Canadian Border Services Agency Wednesday, August 28. 

Two men and two young women were seen being brought out of a home on Walters Street in handcuffs.

Police are releasing no other information at this time. 

The investigation is ongoing and residents may encounter further police presence in the area.

Sault Ste. Marie police say there is a heavy police presence in one of the city's residential neighbourhoods Wednesday afternoon due to an investigation.

Police say members of the Drug Enforcement and Crime Suppression Units along with the Canadian Border Services Agency are conducting an investigation in the 0-100 block of Walters Street.

At this time, police say there is no threat to public safety, but are asking people to avoid the area.
