Gas leak at a Sudbury high school leads to evacuation Monday morning

SUDBURY -- School officials at École secondaire Macdonald-Cartier say staff and students returned to the school around lunchtime on Monday after being evacuated due to a strong odour inside the school.

Fire crews were called around 9 a.m. after staff noticed the smell. Officials confirmed there was a gas leak.  

Staff and students evacuated to College Boreal until the fire department determined there was no danger at the high school.
