Forest fire reported in northern Ontario
Three new wildland fires were reported in the Northeast Region on Monday, according to Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services. (File photo)
There is one active wildland fire in the northeast region, officials said Thursday.
“Hearst 1 was confirmed Thursday afternoon,” Forest Fires Ontario said.
“It measures 0.4 of a hectare and is located approximately four kilometres southeast of Hallébourg.”
The fire hazard is mostly moderate in areas of the region located south of Timmins and Wawa.
