TIMMINS -- Timmins police officers have arrested four local people after a search of an apartment on Balsam Street North, Tuesday evening.
The drug bust happened at approximately 4:45 p.m. and officers seized:
- 12 tinfoil folds of powdered fentanyl totalling 1.2 grams
- 11 "Ice" methamphetamine tablets
- $13,447.15 in Canadian currency
- a sawed-off double-barrel 12-gauge shotgun
- three televisions believed to be proceeds of crime
Police say the total value of all the items seized is estimated at $14,500.
"The officers conducting the search warrant took note of the fact that the door to the apartment had been fortified to restrict entry and that the unit was rigged with live-feed video equipment," said Marc Depatie, corporate communications coordinator for the Timmins Police Service.
As a result of the investigation, three people in their twenties, from Timmins, are facing a variety of drug-related charges and were taken into custody. The fourth person arrested at the scene was released unconditionally.
The three accused are scheduled to appear in bail court Wednesday morning.
None of the allegations has been proven in court.
