More than 100 residents of the Kashechewan First Nation have been forced from their homes due to the risk of flooding.
The Ontario government has issued a state of emergency for the community along the west shore of James Bay.
It says the evacuation is a precautionary measure that will continue as needed.
About 500 evacuees are being sent to Kapuskasing.
The community of Kashechewan is evacuated almost every spring because of flooding.
