Elliot Lake resident, 65, killed in Hwy. 17 head-on crash
Ontario Provincial Police say Highway 17 is reopened between Espanola and Nairn Centre after a crash on Sunday afternoon.
The head-on collision happened around 12:30 p.m. Aug. 11 and killed a 65-year-old from Elliot Lake, police said.
"Three other individuals were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries," OPP said.
The highway was closed in both directions between Old Nairn Road and MacDonald Street, west of Sudbury, just before 1 p.m. and reopened around 7:30 p.m.

Paramedics, ORNGE air and the Nairn-Hydman Fire Department assisted at the scene.
No word on what caused the crash or if any charges are pending.
The investigation into the collision is continuing.
Two other crashes also closed highways in northern Ontario on Sunday, including Highway 11 between Heart and Kapuskasing and Highway 69 in Estaire.
Both roads have also reopened.
