Elliot Lake man charged with murder in missing person case
Ontario Provincial Police has made an arrest in the disappearance of a 62-year-old Elliot Lake man.
Police say a 34-year-old man from Elliot Lake has been arrested in Vancouver, British Columbia in connection to the missing person case of James (Jimmy) Lee Money.
Money has not been heard from since late last summer, but police were not alerted until May 2019.
A forensic investigation has been underway into his disappearance since June and included a housing complex on Willoughby Road and the local landfill.
The accused has now been charged with second-degree murder and indignity to a dead body.
He is scheduled to appear via video for a bail hearing in Sault Ste. Marie.
The investigation is ongoing.
