Drug trafficking suspects charged with armed home invasion in Sudbury
One suspect from Sudbury and two from southern Ontario have been charged after a group of masked people broke into a home on Colonial Court early Wednesday morning.

Police responded around 1:30 a.m. to a report of a violent home invasion.
“Information provided was that a group of masked individuals broke into the residence and assaulted the resident inside the home,” police said in a news release Thursday.
“While assaulting the resident, one of the individuals displayed and discharged a firearm. The group of individuals then stole personal items belonging to the resident and fled the scene in a vehicle.”
Officers identified the vehicle used to flee the scene and were able to locate it on Moonlight Beach Road around 7:40 p.m. later in the day.
“Members of (the) emergency response unit conducted a high-risk traffic stop and the three individuals inside the vehicle were taken into custody,” police said.
“Upon arresting and searching the three individuals and the vehicle, officers located the firearm that was believed to have been used during the home invasion, as well as 53 grams of fentanyl and over 17 grams of cocaine.”
Charged are a 25-year-old from Sudbury and two 27-year-olds from southern Ontario. Charges include drug trafficking, break and enter, robbery using a firearm, weapon and ammunition possession.

The trio were held in police custody overnight and were scheduled to be in bail court Thursday.
“This is a targeted incident as the individuals involved are known to each other,” police said.
“We would like to commend members of our integrated crime section, ERU and patrol operations for the quick apprehension of these dangerous and violent individuals.”
