SUDBURY -- An employee of Extendicare Falconbridge, a long-term care facility in Sudbury, has tested positive for COVID-19.
The case is a female in her 50s. She is believed to have contracted the case through a contact with unknown exposure.
As a result of the diagnosis, officials have declared an outbreak of COVID-19 at the facility. According to provincial directives, public health officials assess each case before determining if declaring an outbreak is required. Case 69, which was previously reported, was also an employee at the facility.
This is the 71st case of COVID-19 in Sudbury.
