In the Greater Sudbury community of Coniston, the local curling rink is closed for the remainder of the season.
The reason is the roof on the 62-year-old rink needs to be fixed.
After the club's insurance group requested an inspection on the building's roof, it was decided the roof is not safe.
The 150 members have been directed to other clubs in the Sudbury area to play, which is something Coniston curlers say they appreciate.
"All of the clubs in Sudbury have all come together to help us. They're finding times in their own schedules to get our curlers onto their ice. Closing our club is just not an option. We're committed, as a board, to keep going and we are in it for the long haul. We know we have a lot of construction to come." said Pamela Patry, of the Coniston Curling Club.
The club does have an insurance claim in and members say they'll also be reaching out to the community with a fundraising campaign.
A membership meeting will be held Tuesday evening at the Colonial Inn at seven o clock.
