Here’s a list of some of the activities you can check out this weekend in the north.

SATURDAY

There’s something for everyone in Matheson today. Drop by the yard sale at St. Andrew’s United Church on 5th Ave until 3 p.m. Contact 705-266-0939 for more information.

In Greater Sudbury, the Junction Creek festival and trout release are on until 3 p.m. at Twin Forks Park on Gary Avenue in New Sudbury. This free event is suitable for families of all ages with lots of games, activities, and a BBQ. The number to call for more information is (705) 988-8736.

 

The Blind River Beavers hockey team of the NOJHL is hosting a spring gala dinner and dance tonight from 6-11 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion on Hawkins Street.

The cost is $60 per person or $100 a couple with tickets available at e Kwikway, Tammy Roque's Hairsalon, and Kut-n-Korner.

 

SUNDAY

 The Sault Ste Marie Lions Club is hosting a community yard sale with truck treasurers from 9 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon at the Moose Lodge parking lot, on Trunk Road.

If interested in being a vendor, email pyseeber@hotmail.com or contact 705-943-5801 and mention trunk treasures. The cost for vending is $25.00. Everyone is welcome. Money raised by the Lions Club goes towards city activities. It takes place rain or shine!!!

 

Cecil’s Drag Brunch presented by Messy Productions takes place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Cecil’s Brewhouse and Kitchen on Wyld Street in North Bay.

The show will feature local drag artists- Dysphoria, Dinah Might, and Tucker. It’s Under hosted by North Bay native Messy Margaret and her hilarious drag mother, Hillary Yaas.

U.S. Congress hosts second round of UFO hearings

The U.S. government held another UFO hearing on Capitol Hill on Wednesday, the second such hearing in 16 months. This hearing was billed as an attempt by congress to provide a better understanding of what is known about previous sightings of UFOs, also known as UAPs (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena).
