College Boreal is revamping and modernizing its teaching methods for students.

In addition to the traditional face-to-face classroom setting, the Sudbury post-secondary institution is adding web-based learning to its repertoire, through live or recorded video conferences.

The school said the move will allow for further interaction with faculty and fellow classmates.

“It's been in the works for a few years now,” said Daniel Giroux, College Boreal president.

“We just put a lot of energy in our strategic plan. One of the key initiatives was flexibility. In 2015, when we saw it through our strategic plan, we knew that it was going to be a priority for our college and our faculty completely bought into it.”

Also being added to the mix is a hybrid learning type model, which combines in-class and online teachings.
