Collecting winter coats for kids in need in Sault Ste. Marie
An annual event held in Sault Ste. Marie is back for the 29th year to ensure local kids get the winter clothing they need as the temperature dips.
The CTV Coats for Kids campaign is once again collecting gently used winter jackets, snowsuits, boots, hats and mitts for infants, children and teens.
With Sault Ste. Marie's Coats for Kids drive cancelled due to COVID, a local group wants to change it to help the city's vulnerable people.
"The program began when it became clear that children of all ages were struggling through cold northern winters without the proper clothing to keep them warm and dry," organizer Stephen Dufour said in a news release.
