As the young company geared up for the show, they enjoyed a very special visit with Hadfield himself.
“We were so excited that Chris found the time to meet with our young company,” said YES Theatre Associate Artistic Director Ruthie Nkut.
“It’s been a very important week for them as they head into opening a show which they’ve been working on all year.”
Hadfield said he encourages everyone to see the “thought-provoking” and “inspirational” show, in a news release on Friday.
Hadfield has become known for the viral videos of him singing and playing his guitar aboard the International Space Station and said he is happy to share his experience of going to space, the intersection of art and science and the important role that both subjects play in our lives.

“It cannot go unsaid that one of the co-writers, Anika Johnson has just this month announced a new musical for Tim Hortons, produced by the man responsible for the hit Broadway show ‘Come From Away,’” said Nkut.
Anika Johnson, who wrote ‘One Small Step’ with Barbara Johnson will be premiering her new musical, ‘The Last Timbit’ in June at the Elgin Theatre in Toronto.
