Campaign launched to help Sudbury’s Infant Food Bank

Share

The executive director of the Infant Food Bank knows first-hand how it helps people.

Fourteen years ago she had a new baby, her husband lost his job and she got help from the charity.

"The experience was amazing," said Cherie Bonhomme, the executive director of the Infant Food Bank.

“Kind, friendly, compassionate people and I vowed to myself that one day I would give back to this organization so this is why it's dear to me.”

Petryna Advertising has been sponsoring the campaign for the past 14 years.

"It helps people who cannot help themselves," said Dave Petryna, of Petryna Advertising.

“It helps infants whose families cannot afford the things that most families have at Christmas and that involves everything from food and clothing and diapers to cribs and car seats.”

The campaign started 14 years ago and at that time the Infant Food Bank was helping 150 families. This year that number has grown to more than 600 families.
