SUDBURY -- Cambrian College President Bill Best confirmed another case of COVID-19 within the school community Wednesday afternoon, the second within just over two weeks.
"This person was last on campus Monday, October 19, for most of the day, in various locations, but none involving student instruction or active portions of student residence," said Best in a statement on the school's website.
He said the individual is in self-isolation and contract tracing is being done by Public Health Sudbury & Districts. Only people considered a close contact will be notified.
"A close contact is defined as being within two metres (six feet) of someone with COVID-19, for at least 15 minutes, without personal protective equipment (PPE)," said Best. "We are not aware at this point that anyone at Cambrian is considered a close contact because of potential exposure on campus."
Additional cleaning measures are being taken on campus where the individual may have been.
The first positive case on campus was confirmed Oct. 5.
Anyone concerned about risk of exposure can take the self-assessment or call public health.
