The calendar tells us it is spring, but it looks more like winter outside.

Blowing and rapidly accumulating snow is making for treacherous road conditions around Northern Ontario.

Several crashes around the north have made travel difficult for some.

OPP say Highway 144 is down to one lane, about an hour north of Sudbury and about 40 kilometres south of the watershed, after a single vehicle crash early Wednesday morning.

An earlier collision on Highway 11 in the Tilden Lake Area, near North Bay, has been cleared.

A serious crash involving two commercial vehicles on Highway 69 south of Sudbury, near Key River has closed the road for an investigation from Killarney down to the Highway 124 turnoff.

Just before 2 p.m. Wednesday, police say Highway 11 was fully closed from New Liskeard to North Bay in both directions due to a collision, but was reopened just before 7 p.m..
