It's been just over two months since CTV News first reported that the top two officers for the Anishinabek Police Services, that serves over a dozen communities in Ontario, were suspended.
Police Chief John Syrette and Deputy Police Chief Dave Whitlow have been suspended with pay since February.
The police governing authority, which oversees the service, has remained tight lipped about the suspension.
In Sault Ste. Marie on Thursday, senior administrators were asked about the process for dealing with the suspension and also who is conducting the investigation.
They would only say the code of conduct is being followed and it's not for public viewing.
"There would be no reason for anybody within the general public to be looking at the code of conduct with respect of officers, you know. We have a board structure, we have a management team, the people who need to see the document are seeing it, but it's not something we would expect the public even really want to see." said Debbie Bouchie, vice chair of Anishnabek Police Services.
The APS senior officers are also refusing to say whether the investigation is being done by an internal team or by a third party.
