Mark Jarvis has a story that should ensure you don’t forget to check your lottery tickets any time soon.
After buying his weekly lottery ticket back in the fall, the Corbeil man forgot to check if he was a winner.
Mmonths later, he found out that was indeed the case.
“Once a week, I head to the local gas station to fill up and pick up some lottery tickets,” he said.
“The day I bought my winning ticket was no different. I put my tickets in my pocket and forgot about them.”
Jarvis took home $100,000 after matching six of the seven winning numbers for his ENCORE selection.
“I used the ticket checker and as I scanned the ticket the words, ‘Big Winner’ appeared on the screen. I was shocked, overwhelmed and in disbelief. I asked the retailer to validate my ticket. The terminal froze and OLG called the store to confirm my win,” he explained.
Jarvis is planning to put his win towards his retirement. “I was going to retire anyway but this prize is the gravy on top. Winning the lottery feels great!”
The winning ticket was purchased at Convenience 94 on Highway 94 in Corbeil.
