Katie Behun
ContactSEPTEMBER 2023: Katie Behun is a former weather Specialist with CTV News Northern Ontario based in Sudbury, where she was born and raised.
Although Behun is new to the screen, she is no stranger to the stage. Performing has always been and always will be her passion. She began singing and playing her guitar on the stage at eight years old. From there, she fell in love with it and found herself with YES Theatre starting at 12 years old in Les Misérables in Concert. She has also performed in productions of Mamma Mia!, Mary Poppins and the Live at the Grotto Concert series. Throughout the years, she also worked with Theatre Cambrian and Sudbury Performance Group.
She is currently finishing up a Bachelor of Science at Laurentian University with some online courses.
Before beginning her position at CTV, she was serving at The Keg Steakhouse + Bar Sudbury, which she loved because of how social it was.
When she’s not on screen, you can find her outside on a sunny day enjoying the weather with her friends and family. Her favourite activities include hiking, kayaking, reading a good book and finding the next adventure. She is super interested in what the world has to offer and can’t wait to travel and experience it all.
Behun has also performed on the CTV Lions Children's Christmas Telethon for the last two years, singing Winter Dreams by Kelly Clarkson in 2020 and Carrie Underwood's Jesus Take the Wheel in 2021.
She is fluent in English.
