A 43-year-old Timmins woman is the latest big lottery winner in Northern Ontario.

Hospital worker Carmen Landry won the $333,333.40 MAXMILLIONS prize in the December 7th Lotto Max draw.

After the draw, she noticed on Facebook that someone from her hometown had won big.

“I went to the store to validate my ticket and ended up running out of the store because I couldn’t believe I had won!” she laughed. “I called my husband and we went back to check the ticket again!”

The married mother of one plans on sharing her windfall, paying off some bills and enjoying an excellent Christmas.

“It’s very exciting – it’s hard to grasp but will probably sink in eventually!” Carmen smiled.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Esso on Algonquin Boulevard in Timmins.
