2 U.S. men fined $5,100 after fishing trip in northern Ontario
A very successful fishing trip in northern Ontario has cost two U.S. men thousands of dollars after they pleaded guilty to having more than the legal limit of Walleye.
Terry Tennill and Michael Williams, both of Missouri, were stopped at the Emerson, Man., border crossing June 10 after fishing the English River system north of Kenora, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry said in a news release Friday.
"The men were found to be transporting several bags of frozen fish fillets," MNRF said.
"The bags of frozen fish were seized and turned over to an Ontario conservation officer."
Both anglers pleaded guilty in a hearing Oct. 25.
Tennill was fined $3,300 for having 11 walleye more than the legal limit and Williams was fined $1,800 for having six more than the limit.
