Police in Sault Ste. Marie are still saying little about their part in a murder investigation on the weekend.

The victim 35-year-old Brampton woman named Beata Paciorek.

Police officials in the Sault deferred all questions to the Peel Regional Police in Toronto.

Peel police believe she and several others had rented a U-Haul truck and they were headed towards Sudbury.

On the way, there was some sort of altercation along the side of the highway - and she was murdered.

The body was found in the U-Haul vehicle in the Sault. Two people have been arrested are charged with first degree murder.

The suspects, 28-year-old Mike Madill of Shelburne and 37-year-old Amy Macdonald, of no fixed address are being held in custody for a bail hearing next Monday.

Police announced late Sunday night that Peel Regional Police homicide officers executed a search warrant on a U-Haul truck in the Sault. Ste. Marie area earlier in the day and found Paciorek's body in the vehicle's rear compartment.

Police said an investigation was launched on May 19 into Paciorek's disappearance.

Friends said Paciorek leaves behind two children; including a young son.

“She was a really happy and wonderful person and she treated everybody equally, no matter what was going on. She was a wonderful mom to Sean,” said Jolene Clifford, a friend.

Peel regional police are expected to release more details about the case on Tuesday.
