A home in Timmins also went up in flames on Wednesday afternoon.

Fire officials told CTV a trailer parked beside the house caught fire, and quickly spread to the house.

No one was home at the time of the fire, but a dog was rescued.

Firefighters officials said they used swimming pool water to battle the blaze, since no fire hydrants were nearby.

“We had to respond with our main pumper and several tankers to continue with a secure water source,” said Captain Ellard Beaven, Timmins Fire Department.

“We're very fortunate they had a pool in the rear of the house. We continued fighting the fire from the rear with that pool."

“I would like to propose to administration that we run one line along the Delnite Road that would be centrally located at the intersection,” added Joe Campbell, Timmins city councillor.

“I just spoke with the chief and he said that would be acceptable, as they have enough hoses that would reach most of the houses here.”

Fire officials said the Canadian Red Cross has been called in to help the people displaced by the fire.
