Ontario Provincial Police are evaluating operations in an effort to reduce costs and will be making changes to their Smooth Rock Falls office.
The changes are an attempt to ensure greater efficiency and affordability for all communities.
As of December first, the OPP will close down the Smooth Rock Falls detachment.
New technology will not result in any job losses, but affords officers on patrol the ability to work from mobile work stations.
Frontline policing services in the area will not be affected, despite the elimination of the bricks and mortar facility.
