Nipissing
ABOUT THE RIDING
The riding consists of the city of North Bay as well as Mattawa, the West Nipissing communities of Sturgeon Falls and Nipissing First Nation. The boundaries extend from the northwestern section of Lake Nipissing to parts of Algonquin park in the south and the Quebec border in the east.

VOTING HISTORY
Nipissing has traditionally swung back and forth between the Liberals and the PCs since the riding was formed at the turn of the century. The NDP, under its predecessor the CCF, did hold the riding once between 1943 and 1945. More recently, for 22 years, the PCs, first under former Premier Mike Harris, then under current North Bay Mayor Al McDonald held the riding. After eight years of Liberal tenure under Monique Smith, the riding swung back to the PCs under Vic Fedeli.
