A head-on collision on Sunday evening claimed the life of 61-year-old Greater Sudbury man.

Police officials said the two vehicle collision happened in the two-lane portion of Highway 69 on Sunday at around 9 p.m.

Nehemiah Richards, from Capreol, was killed in the collision.

The driver of the other vehicle, Wolfgang Boehmer, 59, from the Township of Central Frontenac, was sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers had the road closed overnight and it is was reopened just before 5 a.m. on Monday.

Police said an investigation is ongoing.
