Ottawa is giving a Sudbury-area town about $65,000 to fix up a local community centre.
Nickel Belt MP Marc Serre was on hand Tuesday to help present the funding to Wahnapitae for improvements to the aging hall and playground.
"Upgrading the Wahnapitae Community Centre will ensure citizens and community organizations have access to a safe, modern and energy efficient facility for decades to come," said Serre.
"The Wahnapitae Community Centre is the centrepiece of our community and this infrastructure funding will ensure the facility continues to deliver positive social and economic benefits for residents and businesses throughout the area," added Steve Bailey, Wahnapitae Community Centre
Bailey told CTV work on the community centre will start shortly.
