SUDBURY -- Sudbury police a 32-year-old woman is in critical condition after a serious crash in the community of Capreol Thursday.

There has been a lot of chatter and speculation on social media after residents noticed a heavy police presence in the Greater Sudbury community of Capreol Thursday.

Kaitlyn Dunn, Greater Sudbury Police Service corporate communications coordinator, says numerous officers were at the scene of a single-vehicle collision on MR84, south of Capreol Lake Road.

It happened around 8:10 a.m. May 21 when a black 2017 Hyundai Elantra was reportedly travelling north, left the road and rolled over.

"Numerous officers were on scene for quite some time due to the severity of her injuries and the complexity of the scene," said Dunn.

Community members stopped to assist the driver, getting her out of the vehicle and staying with her until emergency services arrived.

The 32-year-old woman was transported to hospital by paramedic services in critical condition. She remains in hospital, now in stable condition.
