Police officials in Wawa are not releasing many details about a body discovered this past weekend.
The Ontario Provincial Police said officers were called to the scene where human remains were discovered on Sunday at around 5 p.m. in the Lake Superior Provincial Park area, south of Wawa.
Superior East OPP and officers from the OPP’s Sault Ste. Marie detachment are investigating.
“There are no further details at this time as the investigation is ongoing,” reads a statement from police.
At this point, police have not released the identification of the deceased.
