Video shows dumpster diving black bear at Tim Hortons

Share

A woman in Greater Sudbury, Ont., said "It doesn't get more Canadian than this" when she spotted a black bear dumpster diving at a Tim Hortons last month.

Victoria Savage was listening to the iconic Shania Twain song 'That Don't Impress Me Much' on the radio while in the drive-thru at the popular coffee chain in the Capreol area around 7 a.m. Sept. 3 when it happened.

She pulled out her phone to record the bear on top of the dumpster that was hidden behind a wooden privacy fence.

At one point, the video shows the bear picking at garbage before it appears to climb down inside the garbage container.

With the cooler temperatures, bears are preparing for hibernation and have been spotted more frequently around town.

"There are so many out there, they’re always at Tim’s now," she told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca in a message.
