A video of a lynx walking through the drive-thru of a burger chain in northern Ontario has become an internet sensation.

Emily Lamarche told CTV News in an interview through social media she spotted the big cat in the A&W parking lot in Cochrane around 11 a.m. Thursday when she and her daughter were going for lunch.

"He was so sweet, I wanted to buy him something," Lamarche said.

"I was in shock at first because I never saw one in person so close. And the fact that he wasn't scared, I thought it was a good time to take some pics and the video."

She said she didn't chase the animal because she didn't want to intimidate it.

After less than 24 hours of posting a short video of the encounter on social media, it has more than 34,000 views.

"I'm honestly in shock," Lamarche said about the response.

"I actually saw it on TikTok. Amazing to see!"
