Victim in Moosonee, Ont., injured in blow torch attack

A 33-year-old woman from Moosonee has been charged after someone was attacked with a blow torch Feb. 3.

Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release Monday they located a victim “with a head injury and burns sustained from a blow torch.”

The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect in the case is charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, mischief and one count each of violating probation orders and release conditions.

The accused was held for bail and scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Feb. 8 in Timmins for all outstanding charges.
