Vehicle rollover near Sudbury leads to impaired driving charges

A suspect from Kitchener has been charged with impaired driving following a vehicle collision early Friday morning near Sudbury.

Ontario Provincial Police in Nipissing West were alerted at 12:30 a.m. that a vehicle had rolled over while travelling on Highway 69 in Cox Township.

“No person had been injured and the driver was arrested for impaired driving,” the OPP said in a news release.

“The driver was then transported to the Sudbury OPP detachment for further testing.”

The 35-year-old suspect is charged with driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs and driving with a blood alcohol concentration of more than 80.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 10 in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day administrative driver's licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
