Man who threatened to shoot gas station staff after points card wouldn’t work was on parole for murder: Vancouver police

A convicted murderer who threatened to shoot staff at a Vancouver gas station after his points card wouldn’t work is back behind bars, according to authorities.

An employee at the gas station at the corner of Clark Drive and East Broadway called police around 4 p.m. Saturday to report that that a man – who had left the business – had threatened to return with a gun.

“It was later revealed the man was on parole for a 1981 murder when he shot a police officer,” the Vancouver Police Department said in a social media post.

“His parole has now been revoked, he’s in jail, and a new charge for uttering threats has been recommended.”

The suspect has not been named, and was identified only as a 66-year-old man.
