This Friday’s dance will be headlined by Dwayne Gretzky with opening local band performances by the Shed Jammers and the Illegitimates.

Tickets to the 19+ licensed event at the Lower Plaza are available online or at Collins Hall on Hillside Drive North.

"Next year is our 70th – big anniversary next year but the heritage, the history in Elliot Lake people come out,” said Steve Antunes, the city’s manager of economic development.

“The great thing about our street dance, I've been involved in several up to this point, young, old, it is a 19+ event but we see the whole range of age from 19 to I wouldn’t say 119 but (that is) not too far off.”

Organizers said that more than 700 tickets have already been sold for the dance which is just one of many events planned for the annual Uranium Heritage Days festivities, which will also include a beach party, an outdoor movie and more.
