Original:

Timmins police says they are investigating an email threat to a local educational facility Thursday.

Police say the threat indicated that explosives may have been placed at a building, and as a proactive measure, several facilities have been evacuated for public safety reasons and to allow for comprehensive searches.

The evacuations have affected two facilities in Timmins and one in South Porcupine that fall under the administrative control where the threat was received.

Police say no tangible items linked to the threat have been discovered at any of the affected sites based on a series of intensive searches and scene scans.

The matter is now under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division and members of the E-crime section are working to determine the origin of the e-mail, as well as reviewing video surveillance of all affected facilities.

Police say daily operations are returning to normal at the affected sites.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.

**Correction - the daycare facility that was evacuated is no longer called ABC Daycare. Text added above to clarify.
