Two incidents over 24-hours leads to slew of charges for Englehart-area man
Ontario Provincial Police from the Temiskaming Detachment say a man has been charged with several offences following two separate incidents involving impaired driving, assault, and mischief.
Police said they have arrested the 27-year-old man from Evanturel Township twice over the last 24-hours and have laid six charges in connection with incidents.
The first incident took place in the early evening hours of June 30 when police received a traffic complaint regarding a vehicle on 3rd Street in Englehart, Ont.
Police said that while patrolling the area, officers discovered the vehicle unattended and located the driver a short time later.
It was determined the man had consumed alcohol and was charged with:

He was released by way of an undertaking and was scheduled to appear on July 20.
The second incident then took place around eight hours later when police said they responded to an assault at an Englehart residence in the early morning hours of July 1.
Police said an individual broke into a residence and assaulted one of its occupants before fleeing the scene on foot.
An investigation determined it was the same individual police had arrested just hours before.
According to police, the accused attended the Englehart OPP detachment a short time later where windows were damaged before the suspedt fled on foot.
The man was located by police and charged with:
- Assault
- Mischief under $5,000
He was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at later date in the City of Temiskaming Shores. None of the charges has been proven in court.
