The first incident happened when an Ontario Northland bus travelling on Manitoulin Island from South Baymouth to Gore Bay slid off the road around 9 am Friday morning.

There were only three people on board, two passengers and the driver, when the bus went into the ditch due to high winds and icy roads.

An official from Ontario Northland says a taxi brought the people on board to Espanola, where they got onto another bus.

Because of the weather, service to and from the island has been cancelled by the transportation company Friday.

The second incident happened on Highway 11 between Cochrane and Kapuskasing.

Provincial police say a transport ended up in a ditch near Departure Lake Road.

The highway was closed for a few hours so that the commercial vehicle could be removed.
